In 1982, promoted by SEWA, Friends of Women’s World Banking, India (FWWB-I) was created as one of the first few affiliates of Women’s World Banking.

MAIN Ethiopia
MAIN is a network created by several institutions with long experience in microfinance and/or promoting micro-enterprises in Africa, including the maininvestment Society for Enterprise Promotion in Madagascar (SIPEM), the Centenary Rural Development Bank of Uganda (CERUDEB), the Ivorian Development and Investment Fund (FIDI), of Côte d’Ivoire, the investment and International Development Society (SIDI), of France, and IDM-Mauritania. At present MAIN counts 90 members (French & English) from Africa, Middle East and Europe.

Oikocredit
Oikocredit is one of the world’s largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector. We also provide credit to trade cooperatives, fair trade organizations and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the developing world. We lend working capital to microfinance institutions (MFIs) all over the world. In turn, they dispense life-changing loans to the poor and disadvantaged, with a special emphasis on rural areas and women.
